This App Privacy Policy explains how The Cash AI ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use The Cash AI mobile application (the "App") and related services (the "Services"). The Services are available via thecash.ai and supported app distribution platforms.
The Services are available worldwide. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Services is legal in your jurisdiction. If local law prohibits your use of the Services, you must not use them.
We collect only the information needed to provide and improve the Services:
2.1 Account Information
We collect account-related information such as your email address and authentication identifiers. Authentication is handled through a third-party provider (currently Clerk).
2.2 Data You Enter in the App
We store the financial data you manually enter, such as transactions, categories, tags, budgets, and related metadata (for example, timestamps and descriptions). We do not collect or store bank logins, payment card numbers, or similar financial credentials.
2.3 AI Voice Input Data (OpenAI)
If you use voice input or AI features, your input (for example, voice audio and/or transcribed text and context you provide) may be sent to and processed by our AI provider (currently OpenAI) to generate results. If you confirm or save results (for example, a created transaction), that content becomes part of the data stored in your account.
2.4 Device and Diagnostics
We may collect technical information such as device type, operating system version, app version, and diagnostic data (for example, crash logs) to improve reliability and security.
2.5 Subscription Status (Apple App Store)
If you purchase a subscription through Apple, Apple processes payment. We may receive subscription status information (for example, whether your subscription is active), but we do not receive your payment card details.
2.6 Support Communications
If you contact us, we collect the information you provide (such as your email and the content of your message) to respond and provide support.
We use information to: (i) operate and maintain the Services (including syncing your data); (ii) secure accounts and prevent abuse; (iii) generate analytics and reports you request (including monthly email reports); (iv) provide AI features (including voice input processing); (v) improve performance and user experience; and (vi) respond to support requests.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the Services:
4.1 Service Providers
We use third-party providers for core functionality. These providers process data on our behalf and are expected to protect it. Key providers include: (i) Clerk (authentication), (ii) MongoDB Atlas (data storage), (iii) DigitalOcean (hosting), (iv) Appwrite and related email delivery services (emails and reports), and (v) OpenAI (AI processing for voice and AI features).
4.2 Apple
Apple processes subscription payments and may process information according to Appleβs own policies. We receive subscription status signals from Apple.
4.3 Legal and Safety
We may disclose information if required by law or if we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal process, enforce our terms, protect users, or prevent fraud or abuse.
We retain information as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate purposes such as security, backups, and legal compliance. If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize personal information from active systems within a reasonable time, subject to legal obligations.
We use reasonable security measures such as encryption in transit (Transport Layer Security, TLS) and protective controls in our infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We plan to introduce optional end-to-end encryption. When enabled, your data would be encrypted on your device and would require your password or encryption key to decrypt. If you lose your password or key, we may be unable to recover your data. We will update this policy when the feature is released.
The Services are not intended for children under 13 (or under the minimum age required by your local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at support@thecash.ai.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can contact us at support@thecash.ai for assistance.
You can choose not to use AI features. If you use AI features, do not provide information you do not want processed by the AI provider.
The Services may be hosted and processed in countries different from where you live. By using the Services, you understand your information may be transferred and processed in other countries, subject to protections described in this policy and applicable law.
We may update this policy at any time, with or without prior notice. We will post the most current version on our website and/or within the App and update the "Last updated" date. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
